  29.      This option is used to specify which conferences are to be checked when
  30.      mail is read or scanned using the [S]elected conferences option.  Since
  31.      WILDCAT! has the ability to have 100's of different conferences, you
  32.      usually don't want to spend time searching for or reading messages in
  33.      conferences you're not interested in.  So this option is used to select
  34.      which conferences to scan thru.  You also have the ability to manually
  35.      override these settings by choosing [A]ll conferences when prompted.

  40.      This command is used to leave the current conference and move to
  41.      another.  A conference is simply a section of the BBS with a single
  42.      message base different from any other conference.  A certain conference
  43.      may or may not allow file transfers depending on the configuration.  If
  44.      allowed, file transfers may draw files from any area you have access
  45.      to, even if it's from another conference.  Additional information is
  46.      available after selecting this option.

  50.      This option when selected, runs a special program to create QWK
  51.      compatible downloadable mail packets from the BBS.  These packets
  52.      usually contain a complete list of new files, recently updated
  53.      bulletins, all your new mail from specific conferences and so on.  This
  54.      is used when you prefer to do your message reading and replying offline.
  55.      This option saves you the online time when reading your mail especially
  56.      if you are calling the system long distance.  This option requires you
  57.      to have a special offline message reader like SLMR (Silly Little Mail
  58.      Reader) to properly handle these special QWK packets.

  62.      This command allows you to select which messages you want to read,
  63.      from what conferences and with any possible search conditions.  You can
  64.      read both your personal mail and any messages entered as public.
  65.      Reading can be done using a number of command line options and
  66.      additional is available after selecting this option.

  70.      Selecting this option allows you to enter a message to a specific user
  71.      on the board either locally, or in one of the Echomail or Netmail style
  72.      conferences.  You can save this message in the current conference or in
  73.      one of the other available conferences without having to [J]oin that
  74.      specific conference first.  Several type of editors are available to you
  75.      including a full screen type editor.  Carbon copies of this message to
  76.      other people can also be sent at the same time.  Additional help is
  77.      available after selecting this option.

  81.      This command allows you to scan messages in specified conferences for
  82.      user-supplied information.  Extensive matching capabilities exist with
  83.      the wide range of searchable parameters.  After messages are found, they
  84.      are displayed in a line by line fashion with the provision to be marked
  85.      for easy retrieval when using the Read message function.  Extensive help
  86.      information is available when selecting this option.

  90.      This is a routine for erasing old messages directly from the MESSAGE
  91.      Menu.  It requires that (1), the message to be deleted is either TO or
  92.      FROM the user who is attempting to erase same, and (2), that the
  93.      message number is already known.  Messages may also be deleted
  94.      interactively while reading them in the message conference.  Messages
  95.      [K]illed will not be physically removed from the system until the SysOp
  96.      "purges" them from the databases.

  100.      Takes you directly to the File Menu where file uploads and downloads

  105.      Exits the Message Menu and returns to the Main Menu.

  109.      Terminates the current connection and disconnects.  If your current
  110.      Help level is set to the NOVICE mode, choosing this option gives you a
  111.      way to "back out" of the command.  Selecting this command brings up a
  112.      friendly question, "Are you sure you want to logoff?".  If you respond
  113.      with a "Y", then normal logoff procedures are begun.  Otherwise,
  114.      WILDCAT! will assume the command has been entered in error, and will
  115.      return to current menu.

  117.      If your current help level settings are set to REGULAR or EXPERT, this
  118.      extra prompt will no longer be displayed.  WILDCAT! assumes that you
  119.      know the commands well enough to deliberately wish to logoff.  This
  120.      command is available in ALL major menus and performs exactly the same
  121.      in each of them.

  125.      WILDCAT! supports three different levels of menu prompts.  Selecting
  126.      this option presents the following sub-prompt:

  130.           [N]ovice  : Complete menus, full command line.
  131.           [R]egular : No menus, command line only.
  132.           [E]xpert  : No menus or command line.

  138.           [N]ovice -
  139.                The first and default value for new users is the Novice
  140.                level.  At this level, the user is presented with full,
  141.                dynamic monochrome or color menus, and a command line
  142.                prompt containing the name of current menu area (Main,
  143.                Message, File) and the first character for a particular
  144.                option in the current menu.  The characters presented agree
  145.                with the letter designator selected for that option.

  147.           [R]egular -
  148.                This is the second level.  At this level, only the current
  149.                conference number/description, time and command line option
  150.                letter designator's are displayed.  No menus are displayed at
  151.                this level.  Shown below is a sample display prompt.

  157.                The final and highest level is the Expert level.  At this
  158.                level, only the current conference number and description

  164.                Selecting this level requires a reasonable understanding of
  165.                all the options.  It's primarily designed for speed.  If at
  166.                any time you forget what a certain option letter is, pressing
  167.                [?] at any of the menus will present you with a HELP screen
  168.                showing all the possible options.

  170.                The HELP LEVEL command is available in ALL major menus and
  171.                the usage is exactly the same in each of them.
